New Patients

We understand that people of all ages and backgrounds can be affected by dental anxiety, and are sympathetic to those who may feel nervous about dental appointments. We aim to make you feel comfortable and relaxed during your visits-please talk to us about any concerns you may have.

We are very proud that a vast majority of our patients come to us having been recommended by our current patients. Here is what you can expect on your first visit.

You will be welcomed by our friendly receptionists, who will ask you to complete a confidential medical and dental history form if you have not done so already. This ensures that we are fully informed as to what medications you are on and how this might impact on your dental treatment. It also means we have up to date contact details for you.

Neggin, Dipesh or Yohan will discuss your past dental experiences and anything we need to learn from that in relation to your future dental care. They will also ask what you would like to achieve and in what time scale. When you are ready we will carefully and gently, examine your mouth including screening for oral cancer. At this point, x-rays may be required. They will also talk to you about the costs of various treatment options. Based on your discussions and your dentist's advice you can make an informed decision about how to prioritise your dental work.

Data Protection

Patients have a right to expect that we deal with their medical data in a confidential and sensitive way. Dorking Dental Centre maintains patient records under the General Data Protection Regulation. We ask patients' consent to hold their data. We hold and transport patient data securely. We provide patients with a right to erasure of their data should they leave the practice. In the event that we change our record management systems, we will conduct a data protection impact assessment to ensure that we maintain our high standards of data care and confidentiality.
